Convert Millisecond to Second
Unit definitions
Millisecond
$\frac{1}{10^{3}}$ of a second is a millisecond.
Second
The second is the SI base unit of time. A second is defined as the duration of $9\,192\,631\,770$ periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium-133 atom.
How to convert Millisecond to Second
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = \frac{\text{Time}_{\text{ms}}}{{10}^{3}}$$
Examples
Example 1
Convert $40.0\ \text{ms}$ to $\text{s}$.
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = \frac{40.0}{{10}^{3}}$$
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = 0.04$$
$$\therefore \ 40.0\ \text{ms} = 0.04 \ \text{s}$$
Example 2
Convert $75.0\ \text{ms}$ to $\text{s}$.
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = \frac{75.0}{{10}^{3}}$$
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = 0.075$$
$$\therefore \ 75.0\ \text{ms} = 0.075 \ \text{s}$$
Example 3
Convert $100.0\ \text{ms}$ to $\text{s}$.
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = \frac{100.0}{{10}^{3}}$$
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = 0.1$$
$$\therefore \ 100.0\ \text{ms} = 0.1 \ \text{s}$$
Example 4
Convert $145.0\ \text{ms}$ to $\text{s}$.
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = \frac{145.0}{{10}^{3}}$$
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = 0.145$$
$$\therefore \ 145.0\ \text{ms} = 0.145 \ \text{s}$$
Example 5
Convert $190.0\ \text{ms}$ to $\text{s}$.
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = \frac{190.0}{{10}^{3}}$$
$$\text{Time}_{\text{s}} = 0.19$$
$$\therefore \ 190.0\ \text{ms} = 0.19 \ \text{s}$$
