Convert Bit to Megabyte

Unit definitions

Bit

The bit is the smallest unit of measurement in data and storage. It is used to indicate one of the two logic states: 0 or 1.

Megabyte

${10}^{6}$ bytes equal one megabyte. It is also equal to ${10}^{3}$ kilobytes.

How to convert Bit to Megabyte

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = \frac{\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}}}{8000000}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $50.0\ \text{bit}$ to $\text{MB}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = \frac{50.0}{8000000}$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = 0.000006$$

$$\therefore \ 50.0\ \text{bit} = 0.000006 \ \text{MB}$$

Example 2

Convert $85.0\ \text{bit}$ to $\text{MB}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = \frac{85.0}{8000000}$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = 0.000011$$

$$\therefore \ 85.0\ \text{bit} = 0.000011 \ \text{MB}$$

Example 3

Convert $100.0\ \text{bit}$ to $\text{MB}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = \frac{100.0}{8000000}$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = 0.000013$$

$$\therefore \ 100.0\ \text{bit} = 0.000013 \ \text{MB}$$

Example 4

Convert $145.0\ \text{bit}$ to $\text{MB}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = \frac{145.0}{8000000}$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = 0.000018$$

$$\therefore \ 145.0\ \text{bit} = 0.000018 \ \text{MB}$$

Example 5

Convert $160.0\ \text{bit}$ to $\text{MB}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = \frac{160.0}{8000000}$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} = 0.00002$$

$$\therefore \ 160.0\ \text{bit} = 0.00002 \ \text{MB}$$
