Convert Megabyte to Bit
Unit definitions
Megabyte
${10}^{6}$ bytes equal one megabyte. It is also equal to ${10}^{3}$ kilobytes.
Bit
The bit is the smallest unit of measurement in data and storage. It is used to indicate one of the two logic states: 0 or 1.
How to convert Megabyte to Bit
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = \text{Data and Storage}_{\text{MB}} \cdot 8000000$$
Examples
Example 1
Convert $25.0\ \text{MB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 25.0 \cdot 8000000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 200000000$$
$$\therefore \ 25.0\ \text{MB} = 200000000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 2
Convert $80.0\ \text{MB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 80.0 \cdot 8000000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 640000000$$
$$\therefore \ 80.0\ \text{MB} = 640000000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 3
Convert $115.0\ \text{MB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 115.0 \cdot 8000000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 920000000$$
$$\therefore \ 115.0\ \text{MB} = 920000000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 4
Convert $130.0\ \text{MB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 130.0 \cdot 8000000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 1040000000$$
$$\therefore \ 130.0\ \text{MB} = 1040000000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 5
Convert $180.0\ \text{MB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 180.0 \cdot 8000000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 1440000000$$
$$\therefore \ 180.0\ \text{MB} = 1440000000 \ \text{bit}$$
