Convert Mega-electronvolt to Giga-electronvolt

Unit definitions

Mega-electronvolt

$10^{6} \ \text{eV}$ is a mega-electronvolt.

Giga-electronvolt

$10^{9} \ \text{eV}$ is a giga-electronvolt.

How to convert Mega-electronvolt to Giga-electronvolt

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = \frac{\text{Energy}_{\text{MeV}}}{1000}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $25.0\ \text{MeV}$ to $\text{GeV}$.

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = \frac{25.0}{1000}$$

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = 0.025$$

$$\therefore \ 25.0\ \text{MeV} = 0.025 \ \text{GeV}$$

Example 2

Convert $75.0\ \text{MeV}$ to $\text{GeV}$.

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = \frac{75.0}{1000}$$

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = 0.075$$

$$\therefore \ 75.0\ \text{MeV} = 0.075 \ \text{GeV}$$

Example 3

Convert $115.0\ \text{MeV}$ to $\text{GeV}$.

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = \frac{115.0}{1000}$$

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = 0.115$$

$$\therefore \ 115.0\ \text{MeV} = 0.115 \ \text{GeV}$$

Example 4

Convert $140.0\ \text{MeV}$ to $\text{GeV}$.

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = \frac{140.0}{1000}$$

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = 0.14$$

$$\therefore \ 140.0\ \text{MeV} = 0.14 \ \text{GeV}$$

Example 5

Convert $190.0\ \text{MeV}$ to $\text{GeV}$.

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = \frac{190.0}{1000}$$

$$\text{Energy}_{\text{GeV}} = 0.19$$

$$\therefore \ 190.0\ \text{MeV} = 0.19 \ \text{GeV}$$
