Convert Centinewton to Newton

Unit definitions

Centinewton

${10}^{-2}$ newtons equal one centinewton.

Newton

The newton is the SI unit of force. It is the force required to accelerate a mass of one kilogram at a rate of one meter per second squared.

How to convert Centinewton to Newton

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = \frac{\text{Force}_{\text{cN}}}{{10}^{2}}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $25.0\ \text{cN}$ to $\text{N}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = \frac{25.0}{{10}^{2}}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = 0.25$$

$$\therefore \ 25.0\ \text{cN} = 0.25 \ \text{N}$$

Example 2

Convert $80.0\ \text{cN}$ to $\text{N}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = \frac{80.0}{{10}^{2}}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = 0.8$$

$$\therefore \ 80.0\ \text{cN} = 0.8 \ \text{N}$$

Example 3

Convert $115.0\ \text{cN}$ to $\text{N}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = \frac{115.0}{{10}^{2}}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = 1.15$$

$$\therefore \ 115.0\ \text{cN} = 1.15 \ \text{N}$$

Example 4

Convert $135.0\ \text{cN}$ to $\text{N}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = \frac{135.0}{{10}^{2}}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = 1.35$$

$$\therefore \ 135.0\ \text{cN} = 1.35 \ \text{N}$$

Example 5

Convert $175.0\ \text{cN}$ to $\text{N}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = \frac{175.0}{{10}^{2}}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{N}} = 1.75$$

$$\therefore \ 175.0\ \text{cN} = 1.75 \ \text{N}$$
