Convert Centimeter to Meter
Unit definitions
Centimeter
$\frac{1}{10^{2}}$ of a meter is a centimeter.
Meter
The meter (metre (UK)) is the SI unit of length. It is defined as the distance traveled by light in vacuum during a time interval of $\frac{1}{299\,792\,458}$ of a second.
How to convert Centimeter to Meter
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = \frac{\text{Length}_{\text{cm}}}{{10}^{2}}$$
Examples
Example 1
Convert $45.0\ \text{cm}$ to $\text{m}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = \frac{45.0}{{10}^{2}}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = 0.45$$
$$\therefore \ 45.0\ \text{cm} = 0.45 \ \text{m}$$
Example 2
Convert $70.0\ \text{cm}$ to $\text{m}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = \frac{70.0}{{10}^{2}}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = 0.7$$
$$\therefore \ 70.0\ \text{cm} = 0.7 \ \text{m}$$
Example 3
Convert $100.0\ \text{cm}$ to $\text{m}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = \frac{100.0}{{10}^{2}}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = 1$$
$$\therefore \ 100.0\ \text{cm} = 1 \ \text{m}$$
Example 4
Convert $140.0\ \text{cm}$ to $\text{m}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = \frac{140.0}{{10}^{2}}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = 1.4$$
$$\therefore \ 140.0\ \text{cm} = 1.4 \ \text{m}$$
Example 5
Convert $185.0\ \text{cm}$ to $\text{m}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = \frac{185.0}{{10}^{2}}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{m}} = 1.85$$
$$\therefore \ 185.0\ \text{cm} = 1.85 \ \text{m}$$
