Convert Meter to Centimeter
Unit definitions
Meter
The meter (metre (UK)) is the SI unit of length. It is defined as the distance traveled by light in vacuum during a time interval of $\frac{1}{299\,792\,458}$ of a second.
Centimeter
$\frac{1}{10^{2}}$ of a meter is a centimeter.
How to convert Meter to Centimeter
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = \text{Length}_{\text{m}} \cdot {10}^{2}$$
Examples
Example 1
Convert $40.0\ \text{m}$ to $\text{cm}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 40.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 4000$$
$$\therefore \ 40.0\ \text{m} = 4000 \ \text{cm}$$
Example 2
Convert $60.0\ \text{m}$ to $\text{cm}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 60.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 6000$$
$$\therefore \ 60.0\ \text{m} = 6000 \ \text{cm}$$
Example 3
Convert $120.0\ \text{m}$ to $\text{cm}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 120.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 12000$$
$$\therefore \ 120.0\ \text{m} = 12000 \ \text{cm}$$
Example 4
Convert $150.0\ \text{m}$ to $\text{cm}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 150.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 15000$$
$$\therefore \ 150.0\ \text{m} = 15000 \ \text{cm}$$
Example 5
Convert $180.0\ \text{m}$ to $\text{cm}$.
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 180.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$
$$\text{Length}_{\text{cm}} = 18000$$
$$\therefore \ 180.0\ \text{m} = 18000 \ \text{cm}$$
