Convert Kilowatt to Watt

Unit definitions

Kilowatt

$10^{3}$ watts is a kilowatt.

Watt

The watt is the SI unit of power. It is defined as one joule per second ($1\ \text{W} = 1\ \text{J/s}$).

How to convert Kilowatt to Watt

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = \text{Power}_{\text{kW}} \cdot {10}^{3}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $50.0\ \text{kW}$ to $\text{W}$.

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 50.0 \cdot {10}^{3}$$

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 50000$$

$$\therefore \ 50.0\ \text{kW} = 50000 \ \text{W}$$

Example 2

Convert $90.0\ \text{kW}$ to $\text{W}$.

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 90.0 \cdot {10}^{3}$$

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 90000$$

$$\therefore \ 90.0\ \text{kW} = 90000 \ \text{W}$$

Example 3

Convert $120.0\ \text{kW}$ to $\text{W}$.

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 120.0 \cdot {10}^{3}$$

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 120000$$

$$\therefore \ 120.0\ \text{kW} = 120000 \ \text{W}$$

Example 4

Convert $130.0\ \text{kW}$ to $\text{W}$.

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 130.0 \cdot {10}^{3}$$

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 130000$$

$$\therefore \ 130.0\ \text{kW} = 130000 \ \text{W}$$

Example 5

Convert $165.0\ \text{kW}$ to $\text{W}$.

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 165.0 \cdot {10}^{3}$$

$$\text{Power}_{\text{W}} = 165000$$

$$\therefore \ 165.0\ \text{kW} = 165000 \ \text{W}$$
