Convert Rankine to Fahrenheit
Unit definitions
Rankine
Rankine is a scale used in engineering systems in the United States. Temperature in $^{\circ}\text{R}$ is equal to $\text{K} \times \frac{9}{5}$.
Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit is a scale commonly used in the United States. Temperature in $^{\circ}\text{F}$ is equal to $\text{K} \times \frac{9}{5} - 459.67$.
How to convert Rankine to Fahrenheit
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = - 459.67 + \text{Temperature}_{\text{°R}}$$
Examples
Example 1
Convert $35.0\ \text{°R}$ to $\text{°F}$.
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = - 459.67 + 35.0$$
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = -424.67$$
$$\therefore \ 35.0\ \text{°R} = -424.67 \ \text{°F}$$
Example 2
Convert $85.0\ \text{°R}$ to $\text{°F}$.
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = - 459.67 + 85.0$$
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = -374.67$$
$$\therefore \ 85.0\ \text{°R} = -374.67 \ \text{°F}$$
Example 3
Convert $120.0\ \text{°R}$ to $\text{°F}$.
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = - 459.67 + 120.0$$
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = -339.67$$
$$\therefore \ 120.0\ \text{°R} = -339.67 \ \text{°F}$$
Example 4
Convert $150.0\ \text{°R}$ to $\text{°F}$.
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = - 459.67 + 150.0$$
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = -309.67$$
$$\therefore \ 150.0\ \text{°R} = -309.67 \ \text{°F}$$
Example 5
Convert $195.0\ \text{°R}$ to $\text{°F}$.
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = - 459.67 + 195.0$$
$$\text{Temperature}_{\text{°F}} = -264.67$$
$$\therefore \ 195.0\ \text{°R} = -264.67 \ \text{°F}$$
