Convert Kilobit to Byte

Unit definitions

Kilobit

${10}^{3}$ bits equal one kilobit.

Byte

$8$ bits equal one byte.

How to convert Kilobit to Byte

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = \text{Data and Storage}_{\text{Kb}} \cdot 125$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $45.0\ \text{Kb}$ to $\text{B}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 45.0 \cdot 125$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 5625$$

$$\therefore \ 45.0\ \text{Kb} = 5625 \ \text{B}$$

Example 2

Convert $80.0\ \text{Kb}$ to $\text{B}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 80.0 \cdot 125$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 10000$$

$$\therefore \ 80.0\ \text{Kb} = 10000 \ \text{B}$$

Example 3

Convert $110.0\ \text{Kb}$ to $\text{B}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 110.0 \cdot 125$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 13750$$

$$\therefore \ 110.0\ \text{Kb} = 13750 \ \text{B}$$

Example 4

Convert $130.0\ \text{Kb}$ to $\text{B}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 130.0 \cdot 125$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 16250$$

$$\therefore \ 130.0\ \text{Kb} = 16250 \ \text{B}$$

Example 5

Convert $165.0\ \text{Kb}$ to $\text{B}$.

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 165.0 \cdot 125$$

$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{B}} = 20625$$

$$\therefore \ 165.0\ \text{Kb} = 20625 \ \text{B}$$
