Convert Kilobyte to Bit
Unit definitions
Kilobyte
${10}^{3}$ bytes equal one kilobyte.
Bit
The bit is the smallest unit of measurement in data and storage. It is used to indicate one of the two logic states: 0 or 1.
How to convert Kilobyte to Bit
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = \text{Data and Storage}_{\text{KB}} \cdot 8000$$
Examples
Example 1
Convert $30.0\ \text{KB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 30.0 \cdot 8000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 240000$$
$$\therefore \ 30.0\ \text{KB} = 240000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 2
Convert $80.0\ \text{KB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 80.0 \cdot 8000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 640000$$
$$\therefore \ 80.0\ \text{KB} = 640000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 3
Convert $100.0\ \text{KB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 100.0 \cdot 8000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 800000$$
$$\therefore \ 100.0\ \text{KB} = 800000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 4
Convert $130.0\ \text{KB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 130.0 \cdot 8000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 1040000$$
$$\therefore \ 130.0\ \text{KB} = 1040000 \ \text{bit}$$
Example 5
Convert $195.0\ \text{KB}$ to $\text{bit}$.
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 195.0 \cdot 8000$$
$$\text{Data and Storage}_{\text{bit}} = 1560000$$
$$\therefore \ 195.0\ \text{KB} = 1560000 \ \text{bit}$$
