Convert Hectogram to Kilogram

Unit definitions

Hectogram

$10^{2}$ grams is a hectogram.

Kilogram

The kilogram is the SI base unit of mass. Since the 2019 redefinition of the SI base units, it is defined by using the fixed numerical value of the Planck's constant ($h$) to be $6.626\,070\,15 \times 10^{-34} \ \text{J}\text{s}$. $$h = 6.626\,070\,15 \times 10^{-34} \ \text{J}\text{s}$$ $$h = 6.626\,070\,15 \times 10^{-34} \ \text{kg}\text{m}^2\text{s}^{-2}\cdot\text{s}$$ $$h = 6.626\,070\,15 \times 10^{-34} \ \text{kg}\text{m}^2\text{s}^{-1}$$ Therefore, $$1 \ \text{kg} = \frac{h}{6.626\,070\,15 \times 10^{-34} \ \text{m}^2\text{s}^{-1}}$$ $$1 \ \text{kg} = \frac{h}{6.626\,070\,15 \times 10^{-34}} \ \text{m}^{-2} \text{s}$$

How to convert Hectogram to Kilogram

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = \frac{\text{Mass}_{\text{hg}}}{10}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $35.0\ \text{hg}$ to $\text{kg}$.

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = \frac{35.0}{10}$$

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = 3.5$$

$$\therefore \ 35.0\ \text{hg} = 3.5 \ \text{kg}$$

Example 2

Convert $70.0\ \text{hg}$ to $\text{kg}$.

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = \frac{70.0}{10}$$

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = 7$$

$$\therefore \ 70.0\ \text{hg} = 7 \ \text{kg}$$

Example 3

Convert $115.0\ \text{hg}$ to $\text{kg}$.

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = \frac{115.0}{10}$$

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = 11.5$$

$$\therefore \ 115.0\ \text{hg} = 11.5 \ \text{kg}$$

Example 4

Convert $150.0\ \text{hg}$ to $\text{kg}$.

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = \frac{150.0}{10}$$

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = 15$$

$$\therefore \ 150.0\ \text{hg} = 15 \ \text{kg}$$

Example 5

Convert $200.0\ \text{hg}$ to $\text{kg}$.

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = \frac{200.0}{10}$$

$$\text{Mass}_{\text{kg}} = 20$$

$$\therefore \ 200.0\ \text{hg} = 20 \ \text{kg}$$
