Convert Second to Nanosecond

Unit definitions

Second

The second is the SI base unit of time. A second is defined as the duration of $9\,192\,631\,770$ periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium-133 atom.

Nanosecond

$\frac{1}{10^{9}}$ of a second is a nanosecond.

How to convert Second to Nanosecond

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = \text{Time}_{\text{s}} \cdot {10}^{9}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $45.0\ \text{s}$ to $\text{ns}$.

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 45.0 \cdot {10}^{9}$$

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 45000000000$$

$$\therefore \ 45.0\ \text{s} = 45000000000 \ \text{ns}$$

Example 2

Convert $60.0\ \text{s}$ to $\text{ns}$.

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 60.0 \cdot {10}^{9}$$

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 60000000000$$

$$\therefore \ 60.0\ \text{s} = 60000000000 \ \text{ns}$$

Example 3

Convert $100.0\ \text{s}$ to $\text{ns}$.

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 100.0 \cdot {10}^{9}$$

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 100000000000$$

$$\therefore \ 100.0\ \text{s} = 100000000000 \ \text{ns}$$

Example 4

Convert $135.0\ \text{s}$ to $\text{ns}$.

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 135.0 \cdot {10}^{9}$$

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 135000000000$$

$$\therefore \ 135.0\ \text{s} = 135000000000 \ \text{ns}$$

Example 5

Convert $170.0\ \text{s}$ to $\text{ns}$.

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 170.0 \cdot {10}^{9}$$

$$\text{Time}_{\text{ns}} = 170000000000$$

$$\therefore \ 170.0\ \text{s} = 170000000000 \ \text{ns}$$
