Unit definitions

Liter

The liter is a metric unit of volume equal to $1$ cubic decimeter (i.e., $10^{3}$ cubic centimeters). It is approximately equal to the mass of $1\ \text{kg}$ of water at room temperature.

Hectoliter

$100$ liters equals one hectoliter.

How to convert Liter to Hectoliter

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = \frac{\text{Volume}_{\text{l}}}{100}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $50.0\ \text{l}$ to $\text{hl}$.

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = \frac{50.0}{100}$$

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = 0.5$$

$$\therefore \ 50.0\ \text{l} = 0.5 \ \text{hl}$$

Example 2

Convert $65.0\ \text{l}$ to $\text{hl}$.

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = \frac{65.0}{100}$$

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = 0.65$$

$$\therefore \ 65.0\ \text{l} = 0.65 \ \text{hl}$$

Example 3

Convert $110.0\ \text{l}$ to $\text{hl}$.

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = \frac{110.0}{100}$$

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = 1.1$$

$$\therefore \ 110.0\ \text{l} = 1.1 \ \text{hl}$$

Example 4

Convert $130.0\ \text{l}$ to $\text{hl}$.

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = \frac{130.0}{100}$$

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = 1.3$$

$$\therefore \ 130.0\ \text{l} = 1.3 \ \text{hl}$$

Example 5

Convert $185.0\ \text{l}$ to $\text{hl}$.

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = \frac{185.0}{100}$$

$$\text{Volume}_{\text{hl}} = 1.85$$

$$\therefore \ 185.0\ \text{l} = 1.85 \ \text{hl}$$
