Convert Newton to Centinewton

Unit definitions

Newton

The newton is the SI unit of force. It is the force required to accelerate a mass of one kilogram at a rate of one meter per second squared.

Centinewton

${10}^{-2}$ newtons equal one centinewton.

How to convert Newton to Centinewton

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = \text{Force}_{\text{N}} \cdot {10}^{2}$$

Examples

Example 1

Convert $45.0\ \text{N}$ to $\text{cN}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 45.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 4500$$

$$\therefore \ 45.0\ \text{N} = 4500 \ \text{cN}$$

Example 2

Convert $80.0\ \text{N}$ to $\text{cN}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 80.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 8000$$

$$\therefore \ 80.0\ \text{N} = 8000 \ \text{cN}$$

Example 3

Convert $110.0\ \text{N}$ to $\text{cN}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 110.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 11000$$

$$\therefore \ 110.0\ \text{N} = 11000 \ \text{cN}$$

Example 4

Convert $130.0\ \text{N}$ to $\text{cN}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 130.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 13000$$

$$\therefore \ 130.0\ \text{N} = 13000 \ \text{cN}$$

Example 5

Convert $165.0\ \text{N}$ to $\text{cN}$.

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 165.0 \cdot {10}^{2}$$

$$\text{Force}_{\text{cN}} = 16500$$

$$\therefore \ 165.0\ \text{N} = 16500 \ \text{cN}$$
